Tras dos años de preparativos para cruzar con cometas la capa de hielo de Groenlandia, por segunda vez el gobierno Danés me deniega el permiso por razones económicas. El destino vuelve a cambiar el rumbo con este duro revés. Pero la aventura y los retos personales están a la vuelta de la esquina y siempre existe el «plan B».

‐ Explorando Islandia como jamás antes se hizo ‐

Por primera vez una expedición pretende cruzar Islandia impulsados por cometas y buceando donde nunca antes se hizo.
Una vez más el aventurero, explorador y buceador extremo Paco Acedo afrontará el próximo 27 de Abril un nuevo reto sin precedentes. La expedición tratará de cruzar esta gran isla impulsados por cometas y buceando en los lagos glaciares de Islandia. De este a oeste atravesarán sin asistencia los dos glaciares más grandes de Islandia, incluido el Vatnajökull, el más grande de Europa, recorriendo un total de 250 Km y soportando durante 25 días temperaturas que podrían alcanzar los -30ºC. En esta ocasión Paco Acedo irá acompañado por un cámara, Javier Fernández-Martos, que filmará toda la expedición.
Arrastrarán por sí mismos pesados trineos, progresando sobre el irregular terreno de Islandia caminando y con esquís e impulsados por el viento cuando las condiciones lo permitan.
El viento extremo de Islandia, los cambios repentinos en el tiempo, el frío, el hielo y la lluvia constantes, así como sortear un territorio lleno de volcanes con alta actividad sísmica serán algunos de los retos que la expedición afrontará.
Para culminar la aventura Paco Acedo buceará en remotos lagos de Islandia donde nunca antes se hizo.
La expedición “Wind, fire & Ice Challenge” es una nueva etapa dentro del proyecto SUBPOLAR 90o, a través del cual PACO ACEDO pretende alcanzar buceando el Polo Norte geográfico.

‐ Exploring Iceland as nobody did before ‐


For the first time an expedition intended to cross Iceland propeled by kites and diving where nobody did before
Once again the adventurer, explorer and extreme diver Paco Acedo faces next April 27th a new challenge unprecedented. The expedition will try to cross this great island propel by kites and diving in the glacial lakes of Iceland. From east to west the expedition will cross unassisted the two largest glaciers of Iceland, including Vatnajökull, the largest in Europe, covering a total of 250 km for 25 days and fighting to low temperatures that could reach -30°C. On this ocassion Paco Acedo will be accompanied by a cameraman, Javier Fernandez-Martos, who filmed the whole expedition.
They will drag by themselves heavies sleds, progressing on the uneven terrain of Iceland walking and with skis and propeled by wind when conditions permit.
The extreme wind of Iceland, sudden changes in weather, cold, ice, constant rain, and overcome a territory full of volcanoes with high seismic activity are some of the challenges that will face the expedition.
To complete the adventure, PACO ACEDO will dive in remote lakes in Iceland where nobody did before.
The expedition » Wind, fire & Ice Challenge » is a new step in the SUBPOLAR 90o project, which PACO ACEDO aims to reach the geographic North Pole diving.
