Un reto deportivo sin precedentes. Por primera vez un explorador cruza el Lago Inari (Laponia Finlandesa), esquiando y buceando bajo el hielo.

El pasado 20 de marzo el explorador y buceador extremo Paco Acedo culminó de manera exitosa la expedición en solitario que le llevó en un reto sin precedentes a cruzar esquiando y buceando bajo el hielo el Lago INARI, ubicado en la remota Laponia Finlandesa. De sur a norte el explorador cruzó en solitario el lago más grande de Laponia, conocido como el lago Sagrado de los Samis, completando una distancia de 120 Km.

La ruta se desarrolló desde la población de Inari en el extremo suroeste, cruzando posteriormente a la costa este hasta Sevettijärvi como destino final en el norte. El mal estado de la nieve y el hielo ocasionado por las inusuales y elevadas temperaturas hacían prácticamente intransitable gran parte de la ruta especialmente en la zona central del lago, creando enormes charcos de agua nieve y obligando al explorador a completar gran parte de la expedición prescindiendo de esquís y caminando sobre nieve profunda y agua, hecho que no le impidió continuar con la expedición.

Durante la travesía en solitario llevó a cabo 3 jornadas de buceo bajo el hielo en diferentes coordenadas del lago Inari, donde jamás se hizo antes, con un aliciente de contenido histórico ya que además de bucear por primera vez bajo la roca sagrada “Ukonkivi” y la “isla cementerio” datada en el año 1.700, procedió por primera vez a la búsqueda bajo el hielo de un aeropuerto Alemán de la Segunda Guerra Mundial ubicado según antiguos mapas en la zona sur del lago Inari, hecho que causó un gran revuelo los medios de comunicación finlandeses.

Una aventura sin precedentes que va más allá del reto deportivo al combinar HISTORIA, DESCUBRIMIENTO, CULTURA y AVENTURA como pilares básicos del reto afrontado en esta ocasión por PACO ACEDO.

La expedición “Inari 2017” es una nueva etapa dentro del proyecto SUBPOLAR 90º, cuyo objetivo es alcanzar buceando el Polo Norte geográfico.

An unprecedented sports challenge. For the first time an explorer crosses the Inari Lake (Finnish Lapland), skiing and diving under the ice.

On March 20th, the explorer and extreme diver Paco Acedo successfully completed the solo expedition that took him in an unprecedented challenge to cross skiing and diving under the ice of Lake INARI, located in remote Lapland Finnish. From south to north the explorer crossed alone the largest lake in Lapland, known as the Sacred Lake of the Samis, completing a distance of 120 km.

The route developed from the town of Inari in the southwest end, crossing later to the east coast until Sevettijärvi as final destination in the north. The poor state of snow and ice caused by the unusual and high temperatures made practically impassable a great part of the route especially in the central zone of the lake, creating enormous puddles of snow and water and forcing the explorer to complete great part of the expedition without use of skis and walking on deep snow and water, fact that did not prevent him to continue with the expedition.

During the solo expedition he carried out 3 days of diving under the ice in different co-ordinates of Lake Inari, where it was never done before, with an incentive of historical content as well as diving for the first time under the sacred rock «Ukonkivi» and The «cemetery island» dating to the year 1700, proceeded for the first time to the search under the ice of a German airport of World War II located according to old maps in the southern zone of Lake Inari, fact that caused a great interest on Finnish media.

An unprecedented adventure that goes beyond the sport challenge by combining HISTORY, DISCOVERY, CULTURE and ADVENTURE as the basic pillars of the challenge faced by PACO ACEDO on this occasion.

The expedition «Inari 2017» is a new step in the SUBPOLAR 90o project, which aims to reach the geographic North Pole diving.
