The Experience

“THE TRIP IS NOT RECOMMENDED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES”

This is how the text through which the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives “suggestions” on its website to the intrepid travelers who may consider traveling to the remote lands of Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific starts. This would be the destination of the second stage of the solo expedition to Melanesia, whose objective was the personal concern of living for three weeks with tribes from the highlands of Papua New Guinea which, until not 100 years ago, remained isolated without any contact with civilization and which still preserve that wild and cannibal essence that the “supposed” evolution of the human being is making disappear little by little

In spite of this, the legends about cannibalism still permeate this region in which, although it was officially the great-grandparents of the present settlers the last ones practicing cannibalism and necrophagy, there are still tribes that maintain this practice
