After a first visit to the Yucatan Peninsula as a tourist in 2004, Paco returned after several years to colaborate with the Bahia Principe Foundation on a study on the state of the coral reef of the Riviera Maya and Isla Cozumel as a result of the passage of Hurricane Wilma in 2005

Together with a team of divers and marine biologists, he analyzed the status and speed of regeneration of new coral. Paco also took advantage of his stay and the proximity of the cenotes that abound in this region to expand his technical training in cave diving
